Let's be real. Improvisation is hard.
It is one of the most demanding skills an actor can develop — and one of the most misunderstood. It is not about being quick or funny or clever. It requires real talent, real training, and the courage to let go of control in front of another person, persons.
I know because it was one of the hardest things I ever had to master.
This one-on-one session is built around the Stella Adler approach to improvisation — grounded in imagination, learning gibberish, in the given circumstances, in the full use of who you are. We work to sharpen your instincts, not suppress them. To develop the kind of talent that shows up when the script runs out.
We also work with Tool 12 from the Chubbuck Technique: Let It Go. Because the actor who can release the result — the judgment, the need to get it right — is the actor who is truly free. And freedom is where the real work begins.
Improvisation will change the way you act. In scenes, in auditions, in life.
Available worldwide via video call. All levels welcome — but come ready to work.

About Le Van Kamp Studio
Le Van Kamp Studio was built for people who take their craft seriously.
Founded by Merete Van Kamp — screenwriter, actress, director, and designer — the Studio is a creative house rooted in the world of performance, film and the art of acting and expression. Every product, every piece of art, every object created comes from the same place: a deep respect for the actor's life and the discipline it demands.
The Studio
Le Van Kamp Studio is not a conventional lifestyle brand. It is a working creative studio — one that designs for the rituals, the mindset, and the daily practice of the serious performer.
Our collections span original artwork, print-on-demand apparel, home objects, and candles — each piece conceived as a tool for focus, intention, and identity. The Balance Series. The Studio Editions. Pieces by M.V.K. that live at the intersection of art and craft.
We believe the objects around you shape the way you work. We design accordingly.
The Actor Universe
Actors are a breed apart.
The Actor Universe was built for them — and it is still evolving, every day, to incorporate everything a working actor needs to succeed.
At its core is The Actor Studio: a dedicated space where actors sharpen their skills, coached directly by actress and director Merete Van Kamp. Audition preparation. Accent reduction. Character building. The tools that separate a good performance from an unforgettable one.
But the Actor Universe goes beyond technique. Merete Van Kamp designs affirmations directly onto T-shirts, hoodies, and everyday objects — wearable expressions of the mood of a moment, the feeling of a scene, the mindset of a performer stepping into their power. Because sometimes what you wear is what you become.
The Actor Universe is not finished. It never will be. It grows with every actor who finds it.
The Studio Journal
The Studio Journal is our editorial space — tutorials, technique breakdowns, mindset tools, and behind-the-scenes perspectives from inside the studio. It exists because the conversation around craft deserves more than social media can hold.
The Work Behind the Work
Le Van Kamp Studio is a one-woman operation.
Merete Van Kamp writes, directs, designs, creates, and builds — alone. Every collection, every article, every affirmation on every T-shirt comes from one person who has spent years working across film, television, and stage as a performer, a writer, and a director.
The Studio grew out of that experience: the need for objects and tools that match the seriousness of the work, and a space to share what she has learned along the way. There is no team behind the curtain. Just the work, and the conviction that actors deserve better than what the mainstream offers them.
The Studio is based in Paris, France. Everything is designed with intention. Nothing is made by accident.
